Duluth, Minnesota Quilt Show

In August 2006, Jo attended "Quilting on the Waterfront" a biennial quilting exposition held in Duluth, Minnesota. The show was produced by Helen Smith Stone with the help of many volunteer quilters from the Upper Midwest - Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

During the three day event, there were approximately 150 workshops, 50 instructors, 540 quilts on display, 70 quilting vendors, and quilt competitions in several categories. Jo has attended a number of workshops at the annual AQS American Quilters Society Shows in Paducah. While she always enjoys Paducah, she felt she learned more useable skills and techniques at the Quilting on the Waterfront workshops. She is very much looking forward to the 2008 event.

Oh, I should mention that another plus of the Quilting on the Waterfront show was the fact that it was held in Jo's favorite city - Duluth, Minnesota - in the very pleasant month of August.

Here's a few pictures from the event and from touring around Duluth's Canal Park and harbor area.
