Quilt Shop Tour – LaCrosse

My girlfriend Sue and I had to get one more quilting road trip in before the snow flies in Wisconsin. We traveled to La Crosse Wisconsin, along the Great River Road Scenic Byway, to visit two quilt shops that have been on my visit list for a few years. They turned out to be two great shops less than 100 miles from home.

The River Road Quilt Shop at 2501 South Ave was first on our list. The shop is actually part of the Nelson Flag Company so that is also the website of the quilt shop. In addition to flags and quilts they also have a selection of unique gifts, so you can get your gift shopping and quilting needs satisfied in one visit!

The second stop on our quilt shop tour was Olive Juice Quilts at 1255 County Road PH in Onalaska, Wisconsin (an adjacent city to LaCrosse). How did it get its name – Olive Juice? Interesting story, go to their website and find out – OliveJuiceQuilts.com This is one of the larger shops in the area and has a great selection of fabrics – both in number of bolts and in variety. The shop also handles Bernina and Baby-Lock sewing and quilting machines. Here’s some pix of the shop.

Olive Juice is located in a residential neighborhood but no worry about parking as it has an off-street parking lot.
