Grant Park celebrates its most famous soldier, Ulysses S. Grant, and veterans of all its generations of residents who have served. It offers pleasant walkways, a panoramic view of downtown Galena, and a footbridge across the river to the main shopping district.

< < < Jo visited Grant's home on a blustery winter day to see how it was in Grant's day and see some artifacts from his years at the White House. The mansion was donated to Grant by his appreciative neighbors upon his triumphant return from the Civil War.

During the three weekends after Thanksgiving, the historical society offers a special guided LampLight Tour of the home by the light of the home's oil lanterns.
