Galena Illinois - Things to Do & See
 One of the first things the travel visitor to Galena's historic downtown section notices are the massive flood gates that guard the entrance to Main Street. In the above photo, looking south on Main Street, a trolley tour bus passes through the flood gates. Extending from these gates a sea wall still surrounds and protects downtown Galena from the once raging Galena river.
 
Artisan shops, ethnic restaurants and street musicians add to the easy ambience of shopping and touring Galena.
