Wisconsin Quilt Expo 2012
Next week the big Madison Quilt Show – Wisconsin Quilt Expo 2012 – arrives again at the Madison Alliant Energy Center, Madison, Wisconsin. The show opens Thursday, Sept. 6th and runs through Saturday, September 8th.
There will be contest judging in 10 categories plus “Best of Show” and “Viewers Choice.” Also on tap at the show is a keynote speaker, entertainment, a full schedule of one hour presentations throughout each day, and several Sit & Sew and Hands On workshops.
Last year I attended and exhibited at the 2011 Quilt Expo. This year I am not exhibiting but none-the-less looking forward to attending, especially since this year I missed the annual spring AQS Quilt Show in Paducah . I’ll be excited to see all the great quilts on display and of course visit the vendors to see the new machines, new tools and gadgets and of course to get my “fabric fix” in looking for new fabrics and fat quarters for upcoming projects.
At last year’s show I remember noting that quilts on exhibit came from all across the US, even some from as far away as Alaska and Hawaii. For me the drive from Mt. Horeb is only 25 miles. Will you be going this year and how far will you be traveling?
